Kind words

I decided to purchase the course after a period of unhappiness in my life. I was always in a negative frame of mind and found that nothing was working out the way I wanted it to. I knew only I could do something about this and having always been quite a mentally strong person, I knew I could pull myself out of this, just with a bit of support!
After the first week, I found myself saying the things that you'd written in conversation, using words like gratitude and wellbeing. I started to write down things that I was grateful for and started to see that I didn't need to have it all at once. I began enjoying time spent with friends more and I was able to be happy for that moment.
After the third week I had a clear out at home and made sure that I was surrounded with memories of happy times. I replaced some pictures in photo frames and bought a few new candles and homey bits to make me feel calm and settled at home.
During this week, I applied for a new job. I went for the interview (nervous as ever!) but got the job! I honestly think it was down to the fact that I went in with a positive attitude towards myself and life. I was able to sound confident and sell myself and it obviously worked!
I have already recommended your Instagram account to many friends and we often talk about our moment of gratitude now.
Four months on, I'm in my new job and have been reported as the 'positive presence' in the school. This is a long way from where I was! I refer back to the course materials frequently and am always finding new reasons to smile and be grateful.

Thank you for a great course. It was the first time I've done anything like this and has made think about how I want to make small changes to improve day to day life. It was the first time I've done any meditating but found them really calming and it's something I want to look into more.
Last week was probably the busiest and most stressful week at work this year and it happened to coincide with my husband being away so it was just me at home with my girls. I definitely coped better than I have done, and also made sure I looked after myself by eating/drinking/sleeping properly. So it was good to be able to see the benefits of the course straight away.

Can't tell you how much I love your emails - I have just returned to work after a lovely week away and I am now so overwhelmed with anxiety about being back and getting back into my routine... it is lovely to get your calming and helpful message.

I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have more recently looked into your web page and have found it so helpful. I've had a really rough time recently with my mental health and have scraped myself out of hospital admissions after overdoses. I'd just like to say thank you.
Thank you for continuing what you do, putting light and meaning into my life. During my more recent dark times, I have looked to your work for comfort, inspiration and self-worth. I have made our clients aware of your amazing work and how beneficial I have found it. I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am of your work.

I just wanted to thank you for your course. It's been really thought-provoking and inspiring. I took the course because I've recently been through a trauma. It has been (and still is) a very difficult time, but I just wanted you to know that the material has really helped me. I've really taken on board the writing three things I'm grateful of daily, it's really helped change my attitude to being more positive as during recovery it's been very easy to be negative. It's something so simple, yet very powerful.
I also really like the section on mindfulness, it's been helpful now, but I think that will really help me going forward when I'm back living my life and going to work etc. I've found all of it really useful and easy to read. Thank you for doing this as it's one of the little blocks of things I do which will help me heal, but will also stay with me through life I think too.

I had been having something of a horrendous work week and applying for new jobs whilst looking for houses and planning all sorts of major life events and was feeling a tad put upon and irritated with the world.
Reading your email stopped this entirely in its tracks and reminded me that everything will work itself.
Thank you so much, your writing is always so inspiring!

I really enjoyed the course. I took this at a time when I am facing some major changes and uncertainties in my life. I found this a useful focus to start to reduce the rumination and analysis. I now have the tools to go back and use them again to refocus and check myself eg. I make an effort to notice three things driving into work, rather than pre-empting  my day. Small steps…
I do think mindfulness is a valuable tool and should be learnt. I have tried to use it to help my elderly mother cope with stress to ensure she does not fear the worst. I will persist and hopefully it will become a habit. I also have just been signed up to become a mental health first aider so I think this will be very useful.
I feel like I am starting out on something: I have a spring in my step and believe I can do it.

I want to write and thank you for the much, much needed e-mail following the events this week. Your suggestions are simple but actionable, and I most certainly needed to hear them, and your comments are relatable, relevant and so wise, as well as being kind.  I almost want to ask - "but how did you know I was refreshing my news feed an alarming number of times, and scrolling through posts and pictures I'd already seen" - but the fact you knew I'd be doing that, made it clear to me I wasn't alone in reacting in that way, and in feeling all the emotions you describe.

Your presentation style is easy, digestible and a pleasure to read. I love how you share research examples with personal perspective and in such a soothing manner. Your meditations were spot-on, the meditation downloads were wonderful and for me, were the perfect way to start my work day at my desk.
I feel a better sense of control over my day to day life, to accept my strengths and weaknesses and to fully appreciate the importance of mindfulness in everything I do. I find myself appreciating the little things and being grateful for the moments we have rather than wishing for the next best thing to come along.
I have also realised that you can make a difference to so many people without really trying- by smiling, saying "Good Morning", by begin generous, by not forcing yourself and just allowing things to happen.
