The practical element of it especially, as it gave me concrete things to do and try and felt so manageable and the things to try weren't overwhelming. It was great to have smaller things to try, as well as the guidance to focus on different areas at a time.”

Free yourself from the heavy load of worry and overthinking

In this course you will learn how to spend less time lost in thought, living in your head, bogged down with worry, and more time enjoying what’s going on in and around your life, paying closer attention to how you feel and interact with the world. While mindfulness techniques and meditations form an integral part of the course, this isn’t about learning to practise mindfulness meditation.

This is a practical course with information, insight, techniques, exercises and actions that you can apply to your life right now.

During the five-week course we’ll look at how living mindfully helps you take better care of yourself, strengthens your relationships with those you care about and the wider world, and how it can help you to find more enjoyment, meaning and contentment in your ordinary, everyday life. Be Here Now will empower you to spend less time overthinking and living in your head and more time being present and enjoying your life right now.

Living mindfully isn’t something to do when you have more time, when you’ve turned a corner, or when you’ve achieved a specific goal. Begin living mindfully now, increase your awareness of your daily thoughts, actions and words now, and you begin to live a fuller, more joy-filled life now.

What the course covers

Through this course you’ll discover that by living mindfully you can:

  • Have more positive and meaningful connections and relationships with family, friends and work colleagues
  • Develop a healthy and happy relationship with social media and establish boundaries with your use of your phone or tablet
  • Be kinder to yourself in your words and actions
  • Cope better with, and reduce, feelings of worry and stress
  • Increase the contentment, meaning and joy you feel every day
  • Focus more of your time and energy on what you find fulfilling, rewarding and enjoyable

Week 1 we lay the ground work, looking at why you want to live more mindfully and how it relates to meditation. We also think about how you talk to yourself and your relationship with your inner critic.

Week 2 sees us continuing with considering how you care for your mind, body and soul, exploring misconceptions and realities of self-care. We look at what mindful eating and drinking is and how you can benefit from practising it.

Week 3 we focus on the sticky subject of your relationship with your digital devices – how you use and relate to social media, what and how you share yourself online, and ways to create a healthy relationship with your device and online use..

Week 4 we turn our attention to how living mindfully can build and strengthen your relationships with family, friends, work colleagues and the wider community, and we look at dealing with difficult people. We also consider your environment and how being mindful of where you live and work enhances your wellbeing.

Week 5 we build on the previous weeks and focus on how mindfulness can help you deal with and reduce how stressed you feel, what it means to live with intention and making mindfulness part of everyday life.

“The Be Here Now course has helped me make changes in my day to day life which is helping me cope better with stress. Gabrielle’s course is easy to follow and enjoyable to read and conveys her passion for the subject. I’d recommend the course to anyone looking to live more mindfully.”

What this course will do… and what it won’t

Be Here Now is a practical course with information, guidance, examples and actions that you can put into practice straight away to reduce how much time and energy you give to worrying and overthinking, and instead live the more mindful, joyful, fulfilling and contented life you want. Like most things in life to get the most benefit it's important you act upon what you read or hear in the course. Be Here Now will empower you to incorporate mindfulness into your life as it is now, to spend less time worrying and living in your head, and more time creating and experiencing joy in the life you’re already living.

This course isn’t a replacement for professional therapy. It isn’t a cure-all course that will magically make your life perfect in five weeks – nothing can do that and perfect doesn’t exist! The course includes several guided meditations but it isn’t a course specifically geared to teaching mindfulness meditation.

Be Here Now FAQs

What do I need to do this course?

In practical terms you need a computer, tablet or smartphone to receive emails, read the course content and listen to audio files. The bulk of the work is done as you go about your daily life, digesting what you’ve learned and putting the ideas and actions into practical application, within your life as it already is. This course doesn’t require you to find great chunks of extra time in your day, it’s about applying what you read within your life now.
With an open mind and heart, and a willingness to learn, you will get the most out of this course and empower yourself to live mindfully.

How does the course work?

When the course starts you will have access to the private classroom where you’ll find the lessons, worksheets and guided meditations available to you on any device each week. The course is designed to be taken section by section over five weeks and you will receive weekly emails on Fridays focusing on the next stage of the course. On Mondays I will be live in the Facebook group focusing on that week's material.

I'm worried about how much time I need, can I take the course at my own pace?

There is no pressure with this (or any) course. Each week of Be Here Now is divided into small, manageable sections so you can choose to follow along, reading or listening to each section as it becomes available each week, or at a later time when you're ready. The Facebook group is live for the duration of the five-week course and while I'd love you to join in there's no pressure to.

If you need to go at your own pace or take time out, the course content will be there for you when you’re ready to return. The energy you put into this course will benefit you, and those around you, now and for the long-term. I know your time is precious and I’ve created Be Here Now to be a valuable use of your time.

I've never meditated before, does that matter?

Not at all. And if you’ve tried meditation before and aren’t sure about it, I’d say give it another go. During the course I explain the benefits of meditating and guide you through each meditation in the audio recordings. You don’t need anything but yourself and no sitting cross-legged, incense burning or chanting is required. Unless you want to.

What do people who have already taken your courses feel about their experience?

Jennifer says: "The course was really informative and very useful. The practical element of it especially, as it gave me concrete things to do and try and felt so manageable and the things to try weren't overwhelming – so often I know what I should be doing but try to make it all perfect and change everything in one go, so it was great to have smaller things to try, as well as the guidance to focus on different areas at a time."

A bit about me

I’ve spent a considerable chunk of my life researching and experimenting to find out how we can live with more ease, joy and contentment.
My journey into self-development and wellbeing has not been an easy one – I’ve been a worrier all my life and, at times, let it get the better of me. But, several years ago I decided that however daunting it felt, I wanted to live my life on my terms. Through my research into positive psychology, exploring and experimenting in my own life, I’ve discovered how we can all thrive in our lives by worrying less and experiencing more contentment, positivity, peace and joy.
Everything I teach is inspired by and created from proven scientific research in the field of positive psychology and my own experiences. As well as my own research I’ve studied mindfulness with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University, Positive Psychology Coaching with the Wholebeing Institute, and completed the Brain Science and Wellness Education Program with the Neuroscience Academy. What I teach is practical, applicable, realistic and doable.
